11th Annual Grits Festival
 Schedule of Events

7:30-9:00 AM Good Ole' Grits Breakfast served hot at the Grits Station in downtown Warwick, GA.  Lots of Quaker® grits, eggs, "Striplings" sausage, biscuits, juice and coffee.  $5.00 charity donation per plate.

9:00 AM Arts and Crafts booths, food vendors open for business.  Sign-up at the Gazebo for the Grits Eating and the Corn Shelling events begins.  Cash Prizes.  No entry fee.  Turn in dishes for cook off at the Warwick Civic Center.
10:00 AM Grits cook off judging begins at the Civic Center.  Front and center at the Gazebo--The National Grits Festival Grits Eating Events Begins.  DO NOT miss this!  Sign-up for the Corn Shelling Event continues at the Gazebo.
11:00 AM Corn Shelling Event begins at the Gazebo.  Very Interesting.  Great Fun. Cash Prizes.
12:00 NOON

Midday Ceremonies begin at the Gazebo.  Invocation by Rev. Joe Hoskins, Pledge to the American Flag, National Anthem, Grits Song by Michael McDaniel, "God Bless the USA" by Jacob Anglon.

The Grits Parade begins immediately after the Midday Services.  This year's parade will be bigger and better than ever.  The "2008 Grits Queens" will be parading and throwing Quaker® Instant Grits packs.  Don't miss the beautiful floats and entertaining entries.

1 PM COOK-OFF winners announced at the Gazebo.

SIGN UP FOR "THE ROLLING IN THE QUAKER® GRITS PIT" at the Grits Station.  This event is a real crowd pleaser.  All ages welcome.

2 PM "ROLLING IN THE QUAKER® GRITS PIT' begins at Grits Station.  If you have never seen it, you won't believe it.  You will see people jumping into a pool of cooked grits.  The winner is the one who holds the most grits on him after a timed dip.  Lots of Fun!  "Cash Prizes."
